New Mercedes S-Class removes camouflage

The premiere of the new generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class is scheduled for September, and the German company is obviously completing the tests of its flagship. Pictures of the model with minimal camouflage were published about the British edition of Autocar, which also revealed new information about the luxury sedan.

As can be seen in the photos, the car will have a more sporty design. The front elements are wider and more angular than the predecessor. Thanks to this, the new S-Class has some similarities with the latest generation CLS model.

The novelty is equipped with retractable door handles. When they are closed, they are practically not visible. In previous test photos of the prototype, the pens were traditional, which means that two options will be used. One with retractable handles will be offered for more exclusive equipment.

Previously, Mercedes revealed details about the digital stuffing of its flagship, in which the MBUX system will play a major role. The sedan will receive 5 screens: one on the console, one on the dashboard and three on the back. Auto will receive a virtual reality system with a 3D effect of the navigation bar and driver assistants.

So far, there are three options for power plants for new items. This is a 3,0-liter in-line turbocharged ICE with 6 cylinders, developing 362 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, which will be amplified by an electric motor for the Start / Stop system. The second option is a hybrid with 4.0-liter. Twin-Turbo V8 rated at 483 hp and 700 Nm. The third option is 1,0 V12 for 621 horsepower and with a torque of 1000 Nm.
