New Kia Sportage. How much does a Korean novelty cost?

The new Kia Sportage is available with the largest number of powertrains to date, with a choice of 6 powertrains ranging from 115 to 265 hp. What does the price list look like?

Kia Polska has announced the price list of the new Sportage. Prices for the fifth-generation model start at PLN 105 for the front-wheel-drive M version, powered by a 900-horsepower turbocharged T-GDI petrol engine from the Smartstream family. On the shelf above you'll find the 150 hp option. with a mild hybrid. In addition to the petrol version, the new Sportage is also available in diesel, mild hybrid (with a choice of petrol or diesel engine), hybrid and plug-in hybrid. The latter has a capacity of 180 km and is the most powerful in the fifth generation Sportage lineup. Standard equipment includes, among other things, all-wheel drive and an automatic 265-speed gearbox. The plug-in hybrid variant is available in three trim levels - L, Business Line and GT-Line. For the last one you have to pay PLN 6.

With the PLN 4 Smart package, which includes automatic 3-zone air conditioning, front and rear parking sensors and a rain sensor, the price of the Sportage rises to PLN 109. This is still between PLN 900 and PLN 7500 less than the cost of comparable competitor models in terms of equipment.

All-wheel drive versions of the Sportage cost PLN 9000-11000 more. 7 PLN 14000 is a surcharge for a XNUMX-speed dual-clutch transmission and a Mild Hybrid micro-hybrid system with a gasoline engine. In the case of hybrid versions with a diesel engine, the surcharge for the DCT transmission and the MHEV (Mild Hybrid) hybrid system is PLN XNUMX XNUMX.

WThe standard equipment of the new Sportage includes:

• autonomous braking system with detection of vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists,

• car maintenance assistant in the middle of the lane,

• 7 airbags, including a central airbag in the driver's seat,

• daytime running lights, dipped and main beam with LED technology,

• electric folding rear-view mirrors.

Kia Sportage V. What is this car? 

For the first time in the model's 28-year history, the European market version of the Sportage was designed and built exclusively for Old World customers. The new Sportage has been developed using a new floor platform. In the cabin, a curved display draws attention, allowing you to control the latest systems and connect to the Internet.

The new Sportage will be available with a wide range of powerful and efficient powertrains, including modern hybrids, as well as the latest generation of petrol and diesel engines.

The Sportage PHEV is equipped with a 1,6-liter T-GDI powertrain, a 66,9 kW electric motor and a lithium-ion battery capable of storing 13,8 kWh of energy. The transmission produces a total system power of 265 hp, while the internal combustion engine develops 180 hp.

The state-of-the-art battery in the Sportage PHEV is equipped with a high-tech battery management unit that constantly monitors the condition of the battery, including factors such as current level, voltage, isolation and fault diagnosis. The battery also features an advanced cell monitoring unit that measures and monitors both voltage and cell temperature.

The Sportage HEV also uses a 1.6 T-GDI engine with 180 hp. and is equipped with a 44,2 kW electric motor and a lithium-ion battery with an energy capacity of 1,49 kWh. The power of the Sportage HEV system is 230 hp.

The new 1.6 T-GDI engine is also offered under the hood of the Sportage with a mild hybrid (MHEV) transmission that has been developed to reduce emissions and optimize fuel consumption. Sportage MHEV combines great efficiency with dynamics. Its drive system generates 150 or 180 hp.

At the launch of the new European Sportage, the engine line-up will also include a high-performance 1,6-litre diesel, available in two outputs of 115 hp. or 136 hp This engine is equipped with advanced SCR active emission control technologies that minimize pollutant emissions such as NOx and particulate matter. In the 136 hp version. the new Sportage with this engine is available with MHEV technology, which further reduces emissions and improves vehicle performance.

The 1.6 T-GDI engine is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (7DCT). A 6-speed manual transmission (6MT) is also available. The 1,6-litre diesel versions – with or without MHEV technology – are mated to the 7DCT gearbox.

All European versions of the new Sportage are equipped with an Idle Stop-and-Go system that shuts off the engine when the car is stationary, further saving fuel and reducing emissions. The ISG system works with assistance systems, thanks to which it can determine whether and when the ISG should be activated when, for example, the Sportage is approaching an intersection. This eliminates unnecessary stops and starts of the engine and informs the driver about the operation of the ISG.

The expected lead time for individual orders for models produced at the plant in Slovakia is 4 months.
