The new Mercedes-AMG C43 has become more powerful and economical.

The innovative system in the Mercedes-AMG C43 is a direct derivative of the technology that the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team has used with such success in top-class motorsport for many years.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the all-new AMG C43, which features technologies borrowed directly from Formula 1. This sedan sets new standards for innovative driving solutions.

The Mercedes-AMG C43 is powered by a 2,0-liter AMG four-cylinder engine. This is the first mass-produced car with an electric exhaust turbocharger. This new form of turbocharging ensures a particularly spontaneous response throughout the entire rev range and thus an even more dynamic driving experience.

The AMG C43 engine is capable of producing a maximum output of 402 horsepower (hp) and 369 lb-ft of torque. The C43 can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in about 4.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph and can be increased to 19 mph by adding optional 20- or 165-inch wheels.

“The C-Class has always been an absolute success story for Mercedes-AMG. With the innovative technology of the electric exhaust turbocharger, we have once again significantly increased the appeal of this latest generation. New turbocharging system and 48-volt engine The on-board electrical system not only contributes to the excellent driving dynamics of the C 43 4MATIC, but also increases its efficiency. In this way, we demonstrate the enormous potential of electrified internal combustion engines. Standard all-wheel drive, active rear-wheel steering and a quick-acting transmission serve to enhance the driving performance that is the hallmark of AMG,” said Mercedes Chairman Philippe Schiemer in a press release. GmbH.

This new form of turbocharging from the automaker uses an electric motor about 1.6 inches thick built directly into the turbocharger shaft between the turbine wheel on the exhaust side and the compressor wheel on the intake side.

The turbocharger, electric motor and power electronics are connected to the combustion engine's cooling circuit in order to constantly create the optimum ambient temperature.

High performance also requires a sophisticated cooling system that can cool the cylinder head and crankcase to various temperature levels. This measure allows the head to be kept cool for maximum power with efficient ignition timing, as well as a warm crankcase to reduce internal engine friction.

The Mercedes-AMG C43 engine works in conjunction with an MG gearbox. SPEED SWITCH MCT 9G wet clutch starter and AMG 4MATIC performance. This reduces weight and, thanks to less inertia, optimizes the response to the accelerator pedal, especially when starting off and changing the load.

Plus permanent AMG all-wheel drive 4MATIC Performance features the characteristic AMG torque distribution between the front and rear axles in a ratio of 31 and 69%. The rear-facing configuration provides improved handling, including increased lateral acceleration and better traction when accelerating.

He has a pendant Adaptive damping system, standard on the AMG C43, which combines decidedly sporty driving dynamics with long-distance driving comfort.

As an add-on, the adaptive damping system constantly adapts the damping of each individual wheel to current needs, always taking into account the pre-selected suspension level, driving style and road surface conditions.
