The new Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II comes with bigger wheels and a more luxurious interior.

Rolls-Royce is updating the Phantom to keep it fresh and, above all, attractive to customers. The new Phantom arrives with a more luxurious interior with bamboo fabric seats and new 3D stainless steel wheels.

Rolls-Royce has just updated its flagship eighth generation Phantom. The updates are minimal, but enough to make millionaire pre-facelift car owners jealous of their billionaire friends with this new facelift.

What changes can you expect from a nearly half a million dollar luxury sedan?

First, it has an aluminum bar that runs horizontally across the top of Rolls-Royce's famous Pantheon grille. Fascinating stuff, I know. However, the grille is now illuminated, which was borrowed from the younger brother of the Phantom.

The biggest difference from the new Phantom

The biggest change for this newly updated Phantom was the choice of wheels. A new option is a 3D-milled, saw blade-like stainless steel wheel that looks sportier than any other Rolls design. The other is the classic disc wheel shown above, which is probably the best looking of any Rolls-Royce product. In addition, they are available in polished metal or black lacquer.

What about the interior of the updated Phantom

Rolls-Royce deliberately changed the already luxurious interior little. There are several new finishes for the Art Gallery countertop, which is a showcase for commissioned art behind a glass panel. Interestingly, Rolls also thickened the handlebars a bit. Clearly, more and more Rolls-Royce customers are buying their Phantoms with the intention of driving them themselves rather than being chauffeured. For customers who need a chauffeur, there's also the Phantom Extended, which has a longer wheelbase to provide even more legroom for rear passengers.

Integration with Rolls-Royce Connected

The newly updated Phantom is getting Rolls-Royce Connected, which links the car to the Whispers app. For those who don't know, Whispers is an exclusive app for Rolls owners that serves as a place to access the unreachable, discover rare finds, connect with like-minded people, be the first to know about news and deals, and access and manage your Rolls-Royce Garage.

Inside the headlights, the bezels are laser engraved with a star pattern to match the starlight headlining inside the car. This is the little thing that the owners will never notice or keep silent about; anyway, it's there.

Phantom Platino

Alongside the updated Rolls-Royce Phantom, Goodwood craftsmen have created a new Platinum Phantom, named after the silvery white color of platinum. The Platinum uses an interesting mix of different materials and fabrics in the cabin rather than mostly using leather to spice things up a bit. Two different white fabrics, one from an Italian factory and the other from bamboo fibers, are used to create an interesting contrast. Even the clock on the dashboard has a 3D printed ceramic bezel with a brushed wood finish, just for a change.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom was already such an incredibly forgiving vehicle that it didn't need many upgrades, so these changes are subtle. However, they make the most luxurious car in the world even more luxurious.
