Zero electric motorcycles with GPS. First thief caught in a few hours

The problem of motorcycle theft affects the whole world. In London, 38 two-wheeled vehicles are killed every day, and police statistics say that only a few percent of them are being restored. This is why Zero began equipping its electric motorcycles with GPS tracking systems. It turns out they work pretty well.

The electric motorcycles were stolen at 3.30 am from a street in London, Zero said. The theft was reported five hours later, possibly after two-wheeled vehicles were reported dead. The police only had to go to where the motorcycles were registered and they found them hidden under a tarp. Also nearby was a van that was used to transport cars.

It is worth adding that the entire promotion can be a marketing campaign.Because at the same time, Zero began a partnership with the British vehicle safety company Datatool. However, the theft of two-wheelers is a fact. Therefore, we want to convince motorcycle owners not to ignore these warning signs:

  • covers torn "by themselves" on a calm night - the holes were used to check which motorcycle the thief was dealing with, including the general condition and mileage of the car,
  • broken locks in the trunk,
  • broken or loose ignition switches,
  • the motorcycle was slightly moved, although theoretically it did not bother anyone.

Also in Poland, thefts take place in the morning, and if a two-wheeled vehicle was not used for "driving" and was not detected within 12 hours, the chances of its return are practically zero (we received information from the police). ...
