Trunk volume VW ID.3: 385 liters or 7 banana boxes [video] • CARS

Bjorn Nayland decided to check the trunk volume of the Volkswagen ID.3, which the manufacturer indicates as 385 liters. It turned out that the cabin will fit as many as 7 banana boxes - two more than in the Golf, and as much as we managed to squeeze into the Mercedes EQC or Nissan Leaf.

The result obtained by the YouTuber is surprising, given that under the boot floor there is an engine that drives the rear wheels, and the manufacturer did not save at all on the cabin.

Seven (7) boxes with the backs in the normal position and nineteen (19) with the backs folded out ahead of the Hyundai Ioniq (C segment), Hyundai Kona Electric (B-SUV segment) and even the Tesla Model 3 (D segment). To be fair, however, it should be added that the Tesla Model 3 also has seven, but only six of them will go into the rear - the last one has to be placed in the trunk at the front.

With cars of a similar size, only the Kia e-Niro (C-SUV segment) could fit more boxes without folding the seats. Of course, the higher segments fared better as well, including the Tesla Model S (8 boxes) or the Audi e-tron (8 boxes).
