ID update. Software 2.3 for Volkswagen ID. – ID.3, ID.4, ID.4 GTX – recipients only • CARS
Volkswagen has announced that it is providing OTA (Over Air, Internet / Cellular) updates for Volkswagen's ID line. According to the post, they should appear in all VW ID.3, ID.4 and ID.4 GTX. It is unclear if the new software versions will also go to the Skoda Enyaq iV and Audi Q4 e-tron.
VW ID. Software 2.3 is now available for download
First, the upgrade to version 2.3 went to the members of the “ID” club. Pioneer Club”, who can be considered hardware and software beta testers. It should now be available to all owners of Volkswagen electric vehicles on the MEB platform. Within its framework, the manufacturer promises:
- better image recognition from cameras, including the ability to see motorcycles,
- more accurate high beam operation,
- new operating modes ID. Light - a light bar located on the windshield that tells the driver how to drive the car more economically or with the help of adaptive cruise control (ACC),
- more intuitive operation of the multimedia system and a more relaxed and understandable interface.
Volkswagen is announcing that it will release new software versions approximately every 12 weeks. In addition to free updates, there will also be paid changes, including, for example, semi-autonomous driving systems (Travel Assist), better performance (capacity?) of the battery during long trips or, in the future, autonomous driving systems (source).
Software updates are part of the Accelerate strategyaccording to which the manufacturer would like to develop new business models and user-centric optimizations. Information about them has been published on Volkswagen's German websites, but if they do not contain changes in language packs, they should also appear on Polish Volkswagen buyers of the ID series. We recommend looking for them after the end of the drive, because the software will not be replaced.
