About everything that surrounds us

ZVTZ, that is: Structure, Properties, Technology, Application. This is all and much that a materials engineer needs to know. Materials science studies them, analyzes, describes, creates and changes them. He defines them in the context of SWTZ, introduces them to the market and thus changes the world. Everything that surrounds us is material. Every day we do not think about their device. Properties are of little interest to us, and we do not need knowledge about manufacturing technology for happiness. We know much less about their use than we think. However, if someone wants to change this and expand the information resource, we invite you to materials science.

Universities offer this area of study both full-time and part-time. This is great information for people who would like to start working while studying and thus get a chance to gain experience. This will definitely be noticed and appreciated by future employers.

Structure and properties

Choosing a university shouldn't be a big problem. You can successfully find a school that teaches materials science at a relatively high level in almost all of Poland. Among them are universities. Here everyone will find something for themselves.

There should also be no major problems going through the recruitment process. The scores are not strict, and schools lure high school graduates to apply to this faculty. When recruiting for the 2018/2019 academic year, the Krakow Polytechnic University noted 1,98 candidates per seatso there is not much competition.

Analyzing the available offer, it is worth focusing on which of them specialty you can choose from them in the future. Some polytechnic universities do not determine any specialization in time. Only additional research is the right moment to choose a narrow path of development, such as: surface engineering, advanced functional materials, modern building materials, nanometers and biomaterials, polymers.

However, if you can make a choice already in the first cycle studies, then on the sidelines they say that polymers are a good choice. They are seen as an opportunity for a brighter future that provides good jobs. Of course, depending on the university, the set of specialties will be different, so you should familiarize yourself with the curricula of polytechnic universities in order to know what will be made available to students.

The choice of specialization is not without significance, since each of them will be focused on different content. Thus, differences can be expected in classes that may be taught, for example, in mechanics, prosthetics or computer science.

Technology

If we have already completed the recruiting process, we should start training as soon as possible, because everything will not be so easy here. Graduates who have taken the course warn of this, and in many cases their studies have lasted longer than the usual ten semesters.

Detailed opinions about the level of difficulty are not clear. Some say that it is difficult, others that ... very difficult. They talk about late nights, late lectures and overloaded material. Some wipe their tears, others sweat from their foreheads, but everyone says that you need to stay here. teach systematically.

,,- these areas are the most discussed in the context of complicating the life of schoolchildren. Physics returns to all possible subjects, mathematics is a spit, and chemistry is simply difficult.

You may be asking yourself if this isn't an overstretched estimate, because studies are for learning, and no one promised to spend five years just partying. An unequivocal answer in this case cannot be obtained, since the problems faced by the study of this area depend, first of all, on personal predispositions, knowledge and skills, as well as the level represented by the university. However, it will most likely take a lot of effort to learn.

It will be easier for all those who are your brother with the “queen of science”. Understanding it, combined with sympathy for the mercifully reigning us, will certainly help in the completion of the next semesters. It is comforting to know that the number of hours to be devoted to the subjects already mentioned is not much different from what other courses offer.

At the first stage, it is quite standard: mathematics - 120 hours, physics - 60 hours, chemistry - 60 hours. The core content must also include IT in the amount of 60 hours. You certainly need to develop your own software skills that will be needed in your future work, because the studies are too short to acquire the required skills in this area.

The student himself must not forget to polish the English language. This can be very useful, because in this case the foreign labor market is very receptive and interested in Polish engineers.

As already mentioned, employers are mainly looking for people with experience. To make it easier for yourself to start and help your luck a little, it is worth looking for additional internships or internships during your studies. Currently, you can find offers not only free, but also those that will at least minimally cover the cost of student life. Part-time students and graduates of technical schools are in a much better position. They can start working in the industry full-time during their studies and thus gain experience and money.

application

There are many job offers for graduates of this field of study, and therefore their professional future seems bright.

Among the positions that a future engineer will be able to find are, for example: research and development employee, production department employee, production technologist, production planner, materials specialist, and quality engineer.

For people who see themselves as scientists or lecturers, there is a university and doctoral studies. You may also be interested in working as a sales representative for the technical industry. This is a great option for someone with exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills.

We are waiting for different salaries depending on the company, experience and position. A materials engineer can expect a gross PLN 6500, a quality engineer about PLN 4 gross. zł, and the chief technologist about 6 thousand. zloty. A sales representative will earn a comparable salary, but in this case, you should remember that the commission that you receive for achieving your sales goals usually has a big impact on the salary.

Balance of the day

it's a direction that's easy to get into, but harder to stay in. This is not the best choice for foresters. If you have problems with math, let it go. Do you like chemistry and physics? Choose something else. Can't bring yourself to spend the weekend reading books? Avoid this direction.

If we haven't deterred you with the above questions, then you can expect that although it won't be easy, the end result looks promising - graduate jobs await and earning opportunities are constantly evolving. We recommend gifted and ambitious people.
