Maintenance of your Velobecane Electric Bike – Velobecane – Electric Bike

Start by cleaning the bike frame and drivetrain.

There are several cleaning agents for this, such as degreasers.

Apply the cleaner to the frame, wheels, tires and plug of the electric bike, then wipe it with a damp cloth (you can also apply water and wipe it with a brush). Do the same for your wheel spokes.

Then use a smaller brush to clean the bike drivetrain, that is, at the level of the derailleur, free wheel and chain.

Lubricate the derailleur and chain with oil, then turn the gears on your bike until the oil is distributed throughout the freewheel.

CAUTION: Do not lubricate the disc with oil.

Then check the condition of the iron cables. If they are damaged, they will need to be replaced. 

Then check the tightness of the screws on the entire bike of your bike (freewheel, trunk, mudguard, footrest, brake caliper support, indicator) with a 4mm spanner and a 5 spanner.

The tire pressures are indicated on the side of the wheel. 

For example: pressure 4,5 BAR for EASY model.

For more "advanced" maintenance, you can disassemble the pedals, remove the bottom bracket and lubricate the inside of the threads.

It's the same with the seatpost (see video after 4 min 40 sec). 

IMPORTANT: if you want to wash the Velobekan electric bike with water, you will have to remove the battery as well as the screen.
