5 Audi Q2021 review: S-Line snapshot

The S-Line is the cornerstone of the 5 Q2021 range, featuring a unique 50 TDI engine and updated looks to match Audi's latest design language.

The S-Line has a pre-road price (MSRP) of $89,600 and is only offered with the 50 TDI engine.

This is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 210 kW / 620 Nm. Unlike the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic offered in the rest of the Q5 range, the 50 TDI is paired with an eight-speed torque converter automatic. This engine also features a more powerful 48-volt mild hybrid (MHEV) system that assists the starter and increases coasting time, which the brand says reduces fuel consumption by 0.3L/100km.

The Q5 S-Line has 20-inch alloy wheels, a sportier body kit with a new signature honeycomb grille, and inside it adds an electrically adjustable steering column and an LED interior lighting package to the standard Sport equipment.

Otherwise, it uses the same hardware, including a 10.1-inch multimedia touchscreen with the latest Audi software supporting Apple CarPlay wireless and Android Auto wired connectivity, a very good Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster screen, improved leather sport seats, power adjustment and heating. for the front passenger seat, three-zone climate control, LED front and rear lights, auto-dimming rear-view mirrors, 360-degree parking kit, black headliner and power liftgate.

The Q5 range has a 520-litre trunk, while diesel versions like this 50 TDI have a 70-litre fuel tank. The official combined fuel consumption for the 50 TDI S-Line is 6.8 l/100 km.

Audi continues to provide a three-year warranty on its lineup, while its rivals Mercedes-Benz and Genesis have switched to a five-year warranty. Lexus also offers a four year warranty.
