2021 Honda CR-V Review: VTi LX AWD Snapshot

Top of the line for the 2021 Honda CR-V is the VTi LX AWD model, which is priced at $47,490 (MSRP). Oh, it's expensive.

He aims to justify this cost with an extensive list of equipment that includes: 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, leather seat trim, heated front seats, power front seats, power tailgate, automatic headlights and wipers, automatic high beams . and adaptive cruise control.

In addition, there is a 7.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system with sat-nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, four USB ports (2x front and 2x rear), wireless phone charger, rear view mirror with automatic dimming, heated door. mirrors, auto-raise/lower windows for all four doors, leather shift knob and DAB digital radio.

That goes beyond the models below, so it also gets LED headlights and daytime running lights, LED fog lights and taillights, automatic wipers and roof rails, and shift paddles.

The VTi LX AWD comes equipped with the same safety kit as models from VTi ($33,490). So if you are looking for more security in your high end car, this model is not for you. 

Instead, the VTi LX AWD has a Honda Sensing package that includes forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist and lane departure warning. No rear AEB, no blind spot monitoring, no rear cross traffic alert, no 360-degree surround view camera. But it has the same (2017) five-star ANCAP rating, even though it will only get four stars by 2020 criteria.

The VTi LX AWD also shares the same powertrain as the models below, a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, 140kW/240Nm turbocharged petrol engine that is mated to a CVT automatic transmission, and in this specification it has all-wheel drive. Claimed fuel consumption is 7.4 l/100 km.
