Mahindra XUV500 W6 2018 Review: Snapshot

The W6 is not only the cheapest way to get into the Mahindra XUV500 lineup, but also the cheapest way to get into a seven-seat SUV in Australia. How cheap? Try the meager $25,990 - and that's the price to go.

With this money, you will buy 17-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats, air conditioning with vents (powered by a second compressor) in the second and third row, cornering lights with DRL, front and rear fog lights, cruise control, rear parking sensors and 6.0-inch infotainment screen paired with a six-speaker stereo system.

The big news with the W6 is that Mahindra has finally added a petrol model - with a 2.2kW/103Nm turbocharged 320-litre engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission - and that should seriously help its popularity.

You can expect dual front, front side and curtain airbags (although the latter don't extend to the third row of seats), as well as rear parking sensors and ESP, but no rearview camera.
