Review on Dextron oil

What is Dexron and what is it for?

Dextron is an automotive transmission fluid developed by General Motors in 1968.

The development became an innovation and its beautiful name was taken without giving anything in return, and soon the name was adopted as a kind of standard for gear oils, that is, class 3, 4, 5, which must correspond to a fluid for use in certain gears.

The most popular fluid today is Dexron 3, which hit the market in 1993. This automatic transmission fluid is very popular due to its price and availability. For used cars, this is a great option that you can safely pour into automatic transmissions and be confident in the future, but you need to pour the best, and the best is not always the most expensive, so take a look at the test results in the table.

An automatic transmission is a much more complex mechanism than a mechanical one, there are gears in an automatic transmission, but there are no gears in a mechanical one, and in an automatic transmission, lubrication of friction chains is almost the most important thing, and the last one is the oil that transmits torque in the torque converter.

The best Dexron results or what can be put into the transmission

The first place is taken by the huge Korean brand Zic Dexron 3.

An excellent result despite a very affordable price, the oil perfectly performs its functions of anti-corrosion protection and lubrication of parts, you can fill it in an automatic transmission and be confident in the future. Oils from the South Korean giant Zic participated in the test of universal automatic transmission fluids and in the test of motor oils 5w30 and 5w40, in which they showed excellent results.

The second place belongs to the Japanese giant Eneos ATF 3.

This oil is slightly more expensive than Zic, Eneos has incredible frost resistance down to -46c and everything is at the level of transmission protection.

Third place belongs to the German Bizol ATF 3.

Excellent frost resistance down to -47C and very low foaming, and the main drawback for which we have not found an explanation is that this liquid is yellow, although Dexron should be red.

Fourth place went to the American Mobil ATF D/M.

Very affordable price and excellent frost resistance, as well as good cleaning from contaminants.
