2021 Suzuki Swift Review: GLX Turbo Snapshot

The GLX turbo outdoes Suzuki's 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, with much healthier 82kW and 160Nm powering the front wheels through a six-speed automatic torque converter. Too bad there is no manual version.

The Series II improvements also resulted in a significant price jump to $25,410, a significant increase over the old model. For that money, you get 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, LED headlights, a rearview camera, cruise control, cloth interior, remote central locking, power windows with auto-down and a compact spare.

The GLX has two more speakers than the Navigator and Navigator Plus pair, with a six-speaker stereo equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen and a sat-nav system that also has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

As part of the Series II update, the GLX received a big safety upgrade, with blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert, and you get front AEB with both low and high speed operation, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning as well as six airbags and conventional ABS and stability control systems.

In 2017, the Swift GLX received five ANCAP stars.
