300 Toyota Land Cruiser GX 2022 Series Review: LC300 Shot

The GX remains the entry trim level in the new LandCruiser LC300 lineup, but it now costs $9,117 more at $89,990 (MSRP). Upgrading to GXL will cost you an additional $11,800.

You can choose the GX for its 17-inch steel wheels that go back to six studs, as opposed to the five studs used in the last two generations, and a big black tube.

It no longer has a rear barn door, but still has rubber on the floor and in the trunk instead of carpet.

Equipment highlights include a leather steering wheel, comfy black fabric trim, active cruise control, but you only get most of the important safety gear. Key omissions include blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alerts and parking sensors.

The GX's media screen is slightly smaller at 9.0 inches, but it finally comes with CarPlay and Android Auto, which are still wired, unlike the wireless networks that are starting to appear on most newer models. The driver gets a main 4.2-inch display on the dashboard.

Like all LC300 trims, the GX is powered by a new 227-litre V700 twin-turbo diesel engine with 3.3kW/6Nm and an official fuel consumption figure of 8.9L/100km.
