Limited edition Lamborghini Sián. Almost a successor to Aventador

It's hard to believe, but the flagship Lamborghini Aventador has been on offer for over 8 years now. Time for a change. The Lamborghini Sián is a foretaste of what the sports car manufacturer has in store.

Lamborghini's latest creation is a limited edition car based on the Aventador. The manufacturer himself says that the Sián model has many solutions that we will see in its successor. And these decisions are not such a small revolution.

Lamborghini Sian - hybrid Lambo? What is not!

There is no need to convince anyone of the performance of hybrid powertrains in the world of sports cars. Ferraris, Porsches, McLarens, Hondas… you can trade for so long – they all once believed in the power of hybrids and won on it. Given the trend towards electrification in the automotive industry and the fact that Lambo is essentially an Audi, the decision to use electric solutions should come as no surprise.

Thankfully, Lambo is Lambo, and the wild V12 engine won't be missing. The internal combustion engine, which produces 785 hp on its own, will be combined with a 34 hp electric unit. Lamborghiniever produced. This specification allows you to accelerate from 100 to 2.8 km/h in 350 seconds and reach a maximum of XNUMX km/h.

However, the question arises regarding the power of the electric motor - what is so little? And here interesting things begin. Yes, 34 HP power is not much, but the manufacturer has focused on another issue related to electricity. Instead of a lithium-ion battery, the Sián model represents an innovation in the field of supercapacitors. The energy generated by such a device is three times more than stored in batteries of the same weight. The entire electrical system with the supercapacitor weighs 34 kg, giving a power density of 1 kg/hp. The symmetrical power flow ensures the same performance in both charge and discharge cycles. The manufacturer says this is the lightest and most efficient hybrid solution.

Lamborghini Sián: crazy design is back. Will he stay with us longer?

Lamborghini ever since it wasn't owned by Volkswagen it has been producing very controversial and crazy cars that looked like a 10 year old kid's dream. With the cash flow from Germany, their appearance has changed, become more predictable and correct. Of course, this is not to say that these are not unique machines, but just look at them. Graf and Aventador – there is a difference in design thought.

Model Sian gives hope for the return of the crazy image Lamborghini. The car looks like it's being sold to sit on a Hot Wheels toy shelf. And here's what it should look like. The entire rear belt strongly references the Countach model, in particular the shape of the taillights. There's a lot going on, Lambo is furious and indomitable. The body itself is similar to what we know from the models currently offered, in some ways it even resembles a Gallardo. Ahead is good, characteristically low-set nose, the mask smoothly passes into the lines of the windshield. The headlights and the engraving that surrounds them are a masterpiece, their vertical design adds dynamism, making them fit perfectly into the shape of the body. The Aventador was good, but it's a different class.

Lamborghini Sián - show of strength

The only question is whether the successor to the flagship model, which should hit the roads in the next two years, will boldly refer to the limited edition car that is the C. Well, this car is planned for 63 units and is a kind of demonstration of the manufacturer's strength. The successor to the Aventador will definitely benefit from this project, there will definitely be a hybrid on board, but will the design be so bold? I sincerely doubt it. It's a pity, because the latest generations seem a little boring and somehow not vulgar.

"Sian" means "lightning".

I've always liked the names of the wagons Lamborghini. Each of them had its own history, reflecting the character of the model. The same is the case with the newest brainchild of the Italians - Lamborghini Sian. In the Bolognese dialect, this word means "flash", "lightning" and is a reference to the fact that this is the first design with electrically driven solutions.

- Sián is a masterpiece of possibilities, this model is the first step towards electrification. Lamborghini and improves our next generation V12 engine This was stated by Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Lamborghini.

Lamborghini Sián at Frankfurt Motor Show 2019

New model Lamborghini Sian, which has already found all 63 buyers, will appear at the Frankfurt Motor Show and make the Lamborghini booth a frequent visitor. The vehicle is currently undergoing approval, so details of its fuel consumption and carbon emissions are not yet known. And while there is a hybrid solution on board, I wouldn't count any amazing results straight from the Porsche 918.
