Onewheel: two new models presented for even more fun

Future Motion, the company behind the Onewheel line, has just unveiled two of its new models at an online event. At the very least, the company relied heavily on feedback from its user community.

Onewheel is, first of all, a unique concept of an electric unicycle, which can be understood as a snowboard or a skateboard. It was launched in 2014 as part of a Kickstarter campaign that far exceeded the original $100.000 goal and raised over $630.000!

A great popular success that has led Future Motion to develop over the years and develop its products. There were two models in her catalog: XR + and Pint. The first model, the largest, provides a range of about 25 km, while the Pint is lighter and more maneuverable with a range of up to 12 km.

The Onewheel concept brings together a community of fans around the world, united, in particular, in Facebook groups dedicated to this special electric single wheel. Those who frequent these groups are well aware of what product users have been asking for for years: more range, more power, concave pads for a better feel, and a sculpted tire for rough terrain. Many have modified their Onewheel XR + with accessories to achieve these characteristics.

In any case, it seems that Future Motion has listened to them, as these are exactly the attributes that we find in the two new products of the brand presented tonight.

One Wheel Pint X

The first novelty presented is the Pint X. It uses Pint codes with identical dimensions, while at the same time doubling its autonomy, which can reach 29 km. The Pint X also benefits from the increased power of its electric motor and has an additional 3 km / h top speed compared to its younger sister. With a $ 1 benchmark, the Pint X is $ 400 more than the Pint.

Pint X is already on sale and can be shipped directly to Onewheel's US site, and soon through French importers.

Onewheel GT

The Onewheel GT looks more like the XR, which was previously the top-end Future Motion model with a $ 1 base price. The GT now offers better performance at a correspondingly increased price tag of $ 799. It becomes a damn boring budget for a machine like this without accessories.

But for the price, the GT's performance should satisfy the most demanding users. Its autonomy can reach 52 km versus 29 km for XR. The top speed is 32 km / 1, which is 2 km / h more than the XR. 6cm shorter compared to XR GT. In addition, it is 3,5 kg heavier due to the new battery pack.

For the first time, Future Motion offers the option to order one of its models with a small coverage, ideal for driving on rough terrain. This is a practice that has been around for a long time among XR owners, many of whom change their tires for this type of profile.

Another commonly seen modification: concave pads. They give more control and grip. Again, Future Motion seems to have been inspired by its community and props as this type of pad is now available as an option on the GT.

While the Onewheel GT is already available to order, it won't go on sale in a few months. Enough for fans of the brand to complain (and resell their XR).
