Opel Zafira-e Life. Opel unveils electric van Opel continues to electrify its lineup with the all-electric flagship variant Zafira Life. The car will be offered with up to nine seats and three lengths.

The car has a power of 100 kW (136 hp) and a maximum torque of 260 Nm. An electronically limited top speed of 130 km/h allows you to travel on motorways while maintaining a range.

Customers can choose two sizes of lithium-ion batteries based on their needs: 75 kWh and best-in-class range up to 330 km or 50 kWh and range up to 230 km.

Batteries consist of 18 and 27 modules, respectively. Batteries placed under the cargo area without sacrificing luggage space compared to the combustion engine version further lower the center of gravity, which has a positive effect on cornering stability and wind resistance, while at the same time making the journey more enjoyable.

An advanced regenerative braking system that recovers energy generated when braking or decelerating further improves performance.

When using a public charging station (100 kW) with direct current (DC), it takes only about 50 minutes to charge a 80 kWh battery to 30% of its capacity (approximately 45 minutes for a 75 kWh battery). Opel offers on-board chargers that ensure the shortest charging time and longest battery life (covered by an eight-year warranty / 160 km). Depending on the market and infrastructure, the Zafira-e Life comes standard with an efficient 000kW three-phase on-board charger or a 11kW single-phase charger.

Opel will offer the Zafira-e Life in three lengths tailored to customer needs and available with up to nine seats. Opel Zafira-e Life Compact (available early 2021) competes with compact vans but offers significantly more space and space for nine passengers, which is unmatched in this class. In addition, it features a small turning radius of only 11,3 m, easy operation and optional two touch-operated sliding doors that open electrically with foot movement, which is unique in this market segment. Zafira-e Life "Long" (similar to the Zafira-e Life “Extra Long”) has a 35 cm – 3,28 m wheelbase and therefore more legroom for rear passengers, making it a competitor to mid-sized vans in the D market segment. With competition, Opel also has a large tailgate and easier access for loading/unloading. Trunk capacity about 4500 liters, Zafira-e Life Extra Long it is a competitor to even larger vans.

Opel Zafira-e Life. Opel unveils electric vanThe Opel Zafira-e Life offers leather seats on high-quality aluminum rails that allow full and easy adjustment for all versions. Leather seats are available in five, six, seven or eight seat configurations. The front passenger seat folds down to carry items up to 3,50 m long. Folding the third row of seats increases the boot volume of the Zafiry-e Life "Compact" to 1500 liters (to roof level). Removing the rear seats (which are also easy to reinstall) brings the total trunk volume to 3397 litres.

For the long wheelbase version, the deluxe "Business VIP" package is available - electrically heated massage seats in the front, four sliding leather seats in the rear, each with a 48 cm wide cushion. So VIP passengers can also sit across from each other and enjoy legroom.

Opel's new all-electric minivan is equipped with numerous driver assistance systems. The camera and radar monitor the area in front of the car. The system even recognizes pedestrians crossing the road and can initiate an emergency braking maneuver at speeds up to 30 km/h. Semi-adaptive cruise control adjusts the speed to the speed of the vehicle in front, automatically reduces the speed and, if necessary, can reduce the speed to 20 km/h. Lane Assist and a fatigue sensor warn the driver if he has spent too much time behind the wheel and needs a break. High beam assistant, which automatically selects high or low beam, is activated above 25 km/h. Also unique in this segment of the market is a color head-up display on the windshield that shows speed, distance to the vehicle in front and navigation.  

Ultrasonic sensors in the front and rear bumpers warn the driver of obstacles while parking. The image from the rear view camera appears in the interior mirror or on the 7,0-inch touchscreen - in the latter case with a 180-degree bird's-eye view.

Large touch screen available with Multimedia and Multimedia Navi systems. Both systems offer smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Thanks to OpelConnect, the navigation system provides up-to-date traffic information. A powerful audio system is available in all trim levels. In the top version, passengers enjoy first-class acoustics thanks to ten speakers.

Orders will begin this summer and first deliveries will begin this year.
