Optimum oil consumption

The German company Bosch has completed the development of a multifunctional oil sensor for gasoline and diesel engines.

The German company Bosch has completed the development of a multifunctional oil sensor for gasoline and diesel engines, which not only indicates its level in the engine, but also shows how much it has been used up.

Thus, based on the information from the sensor, it is possible to optimize the oil change intervals in the car. An oil change is only necessary if the oil level is too low or the oil quality is not correct. This saves money and protects the environment.

Thanks to the data provided by the sensor, you can also learn a lot about the condition of the engine. Often, technical faults can be diagnosed in advance, which helps prevent serious engine damage. In addition, it is no longer necessary to read the oil level with a dipstick, as was the case until now. The new Bosch multifunctional oil sensor detects the actual oil level, oil viscosity, temperature and electrical parameters. Bosch plans to begin factory assembly of this sensor in 2003.
