Error 4x4 on Bmw x5 E53 After Terminal Reset

For some reason, I initially did not want to buy a used sensor from disassembly, because no one knows how long it will live. A new Italian-made ABS sensor was purchased.

And so, to the joy that now my troubles will end, I quickly flew home and started work on replacing the sensor right in the yard. But, despite my hope, the miracle did not happen for the safe and easy removal of the old sensor.

When it seemed that the sensor was about to work and move, it was at that moment that it broke) Most of it remained in the hub housing.

Then I had to slowly pick it up with a screwdriver, drill it out slowly so as not to damage the bearing ring. Another hour of work on my knees and the goal is achieved. By the way, before that there was also an original sensor, but whether it was changed or not, it will remain a mystery to me.

Buy, install, leave - and hello again. The elimination method leads us to the ABS block. It's good that there is a proven person who is engaged in the repair of ABS units. I didn’t have to search for a long time, study reviews and fear for the quality of the work done.

Issue price $50. Warranty 1 month. The pleasure is that everything works without an expiration date.

And again, this will not be about the capital of the dvigla story))) Sorry, maybe someone will also come in handy.

And I'll be talking about repairing the ABS/DSC unit. There is a lot of information on this subject on the net, but I just summarize ours, which was put on the E53 body. I'll put the photo in the post, now not everything is at hand.

UPDATE 1: Added some steps after over a year of work.

So our cars do not get younger every year, and sooner or later this wonderful “garland” lights up on the dashboard.

BMW X5 e53 - resource, problems and malfunctions

  1. Sensors that measure the speed of the car, the amount of its acceleration and deceleration;
  2. Valves responsible for controlling the pressure in the brake system;
  3. The control unit in question.

BMW X5 E53 - Problems - Reliability - Weaknesses The BMW X5 E53 SUV (1999-2006) was created on the basis of the passenger car model of the 5th series in the E39 body, but the X5 base is shorter, and the car itself is taller and wider.

Engines

If we talk about engines, then each engine has its own nuances that are affected by time, but above all, operation and quality of service.

Diesel engines BMW X5 E53 are not so demanding, as they are "cooler" and do not have problems with the same rings, valve stem seals and cooling system. But loops can be a problem.

The BMW M54 thermostat (17111437362) is located between the oil cooler mounting bracket and the expansion tank. In 8-cylinder BMW X5 4.4, 4.6 and 4.8 engines, the thermostat is from Behr and more complex (number: 17107559966).

It is recommended to clean the radiator at least once (and preferably 2 times) a year, as it becomes clogged and the fan starts to supply hot air to the engine. As a result, the air temperature near the first cylinder rises, which causes the appearance of oil scraper rings and an increase in oil consumption. Running the problem leads to a costly overhaul.

The M62 4.4 engine has high operating temperatures and requires close attention. Always keep an eye on the condition of the thermostat, gaskets, radiator that needs to be cleaned, and valves, as is the case with the M54, especially if the engine is heavily loaded.

After restyling, the 62-liter M4,4 engine was replaced by the BMW N62. The new generation has the same problems as before, but they appear earlier and more often. The N-series engine needs quality gasoline; otherwise, it may not work properly. Both engines have aluminum cylinder heads, which are quite brittle and can be damaged by low-quality gasoline.

On M62 and M62TU engines, when the plastic timing chain guide is destroyed, a rumble appears in the engine compartment when the engine is started and running. Ignoring the problem leads to a jump in the timing chain in the near future, which is guaranteed to lead to valve damage, and this is a more expensive repair.

4.6

4.8

The most powerful version of the engine for the X5 in the back of the E53. The appearance of problems in the engine, as in other power units, depends on a number of factors, and the wear of individual components and parts occurs individually for each engine.
