Beware of blind corners. Rule of thumb: don't see, don't drive! Most turns in Poland are blind turns, i.e. those where visibility is cut off at a certain point due to vegetation, buildings or other obstacles on the inside of the turn. We remind you of the rules for the safe passage of such turns.

– Obstacles on the inside of the curve significantly restrict the driver's view. Compliance with safety rules in such a situation means, first of all, slowing down, says Zbigniew Veseli, director of the Renault driving school.

Blind turn safe speed means the speed that will allow the driver to stop the car on the section of road that he is currently viewing. This will avoid collision with an obstacle out of sight. It is worth remembering that for an emergency stop of a car traveling at a speed of about 100 km / h, a distance of at least 80 meters is required. The exact length depends on the weather conditions, the road surface, the condition of the tyres, the condition of the driver and the corresponding reaction time.

– The higher the speed at the entrance to the turn, the more difficult it is to stay on the track. Drivers often overestimate their skills, and in the event of a turn with a limited field of vision, when we notice an oncoming vehicle or an unexpected obstacle, it may be too late to react, Renault driving school coaches warn. .
