And again, like every year, we go on vacation by car. In addition to checking that all concerned parties are securely fastened with their seat belts and that our luggage is securely fastened, let's not forget to check the state of our car's lighting.

It's easy to get into a routine and assume everything is working as it should. Meanwhile, the National Automotive Test, commissioned by OSRAM last autumn in cooperation with the network of Autotest diagnostic stations, showed that almost 30% of road users in Poland have faulty headlights in their cars. Most often, the marker lights do not work (13,3%), but the brake lights (6,2%), low beam (5,6%) and high beam (3,5%) are also faulty. Direction indicators are also not always able to indicate readiness to make a maneuver, which clearly worsens our safety on the road.

Diodes for trouble

To avoid lighting problems, it is worth investing in branded LED daytime running lights, such as LEDriving LG. They use up to 90% less energy than traditional headlamps and save headlight bulbs throughout the day. These lights can be easily installed on many car models and we have a 5 year warranty.

Spare bulbs

However, if we do not have LEDs, we must be prepared for any possible problems with the ride. In the event of a lighting failure during the festive route, it may happen that we will not be able to use the help of the workshop, says Magdalena Bogush.

Although there is no such requirement in Poland, remember that a set of additional bulbs, like reflective vests, are mandatory equipment in many countries. And although under the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic we have the right to drive with the equipment required in the country where we come from, it is worth knowing that we will be responsible for the absence of light bulbs, for example, in France, Spain or Slovakia, and because for the lack of a reflective vest, for example, in Portugal, Norway and Luxembourg.

LED products are becoming more and more popular not only among car owners,” adds Magdalena Bogush. They have also gained recognition in the world of cycling, which comes alive during the holiday season.
