The on-board computer (BC, bortovik, route computer, MK, minibus) helps the driver to monitor the operation of the car, and also monitors the main operational characteristics, for example, fuel consumption. But, in the event of a breakdown or when a more interesting model appears, the car owner has a question of how to turn off the on-board computer.
In what cases it is necessary to turn off the BC
The most common reason why it becomes necessary to disable the route is its incorrect operation, that is, it either does not function at all, or (does not show) some important information. After disconnecting the MK from the vehicle's on-board network, you can conduct a full check and establish the reason why it was buggy.

In this case, the simplest, but also the least reliable way is to install another one after the standard block, into which you can bring all the wires necessary for the operation of the on-board vehicle, which will allow you to quickly turn it off if necessary.
The disadvantage of this method is that an increase in the number of pads always leads to an increase in the probability of system failure due to oxidation of the contact surface caused by temperature condensation of moisture from the air. Therefore, to turn off the on-board computer, do this:
- disconnect the battery by removing the negative terminal from it;
- open access to the diagnostic connector through which the router is connected to the vehicle's on-board network;
- open the block;
- disconnect the wires that go to the BC bypassing the block;
- insulate the ends of these wires;
- attach them to the block and fasten with a plastic tie, so you will facilitate the installation of the device after repair or replacement.

There are no diagnostic connectors on carbureted machines, therefore, collect all the wires that fit the on-board computer into a pile and, having insulated their ends, fix them with a plastic tie.
How will the car behave after turning off the trip computer

That is, the engine will operate in the mode that is selected by the engineers of the plant that produced the vehicle, which means that it is optimal and does not pose any threat to the car. If you turn off the on-board computer with the GPS or GLONASS navigation function, this will also not affect the operation of the main vehicle systems, the only negative will be that the driver will not be able to use the navigator.
