Review about the car before the summer

We all know that a well-maintained car drives and drives better, so before the hot days hit, upgrade your car and get it ready so summer won't give you a headache.

This is the time of the year, spring is almost over, after which the hot days of summer come.

Either way, it's time to get your car and truck ready for summer:

- Engine oil, it is best to change both the oil and the filter.

– Coolant (level, color and concentration) Do not use only water and store antifreeze at -45 C or -50 Fº

- Air conditioner, check it now, don't wait for hot summer. - Check power steering fluid level, smell and leaks.

– Belts and hoses, check the hoses for cracks and/or wear, check the hose clamps and, if there are spring clamps, carefully inspect them.

– Battery and cables, keep clamps clean and tight, check battery charge, charging system.

– Spark plugs, check spark plugs and connecting cables for corrosion, oil soaking or cracks and replace them if they are in poor condition.

– Air filter, you can clean the filter by hitting it against the wall, check it again and replace if necessary.

under the vehicle

– Exhaust system, check for leaks, damage, rusty muffler, etc. Be aware that exhaust fumes can be fatal.

– Steering, check all steering parts for play

— Suspension, overview of ball joints, struts, springs, shock absorbers.

– Engine/transmission mountings, anti-roll bar, check all bushings for cracks or wear.

car outside

Windshield wipers, replace those winter wipers.

– All headlights, check all bulbs, replace burnt ones.

– Tires are the same brand and size everywhere

– The tire pressure indicated on the driver's door or in the owner's manual.

Inside the car.

– Brakes, if the pedal is soft or the brakes do not work properly, there may be air in the system and/or worn brake discs/drums, pads/pads. Remember that bad brakes will slow your car to a halt.

– The brake and signal lights should come on for a few seconds when the engine is first started, if everything is in order, they go out and do not light up.
