Salon ozonation. How to get rid of the smell of cigarettes from the car? Smoking in a car while driving is a dangerous activity - it distracts from the traffic situation, and can also cause an accident if the ash gets on your knees and burns your skin. However, many smokers-drivers drive on Polish roads daily. The cars of these people will later go to the secondary market with the smell left "as a keepsake" by their predecessors. What to do to get rid of unwanted odors in the cabin?

Even 20-30 years ago, the presence of an ashtray and a cigarette lighter in every car was obvious. Currently, the so-called "Smoking Packages" are either not available or require additional payment. The 12V socket is usually closed with a plug, and the places of old ashtrays are replaced by shelves and compartments for small items, or induction chargers for smartphones, coveted by buyers.

There are many materials inside a car that can absorb cigarette smoke, including seats, door panels, carpeting, and floor mats or ceilings. Unfortunately, quitting smoking will not instantly eliminate the smell of cigarettes from the cabin. There are different ways to get rid of unwanted odors.

Ideally, if we can leave it all day with the door open, for example, on the site. Take it out and rinse the ashtrays thoroughly under running water. At the same time, we can try to wash the upholstery ourselves - for this you can use commercially available powder or aerosol (foam) preparations. Their cost ranges from 20 to 60 zł.

It is important to check if the detergent is intended for washing colored fabrics. Before starting work, let's check, for example, a barely noticeable fragment of a chair or a drug we bought does not discolor the upholstery. You can also use a cigarette odor neutralizer, which is sold for the same price as detergents. However, we must consider them as an addition to the above activities. If there is no way to properly ventilate the car, try using one of the natural odor neutralizers - you can leave a bag of ground coffee or a bowl of vinegar in the car.

Then, first of all, you should give the car for a thorough washing of the interior. Its prices start at around PLN 200. You can not limit yourself to the upholstery of chairs - the ceiling lining and flooring will also require washing. The next step may be ozonation of the cabin. Disinfection of the car interior by ozonation removes not only the smell of cigarettes, but also destroys bacteria, mites and removes pollen. Ozone treatment is also effective because the process leaves no harmful by-products. The action of ozone is short-lived, but very effective, and the cost of the service starts from PLN 50. The duration of the treatment depends on the intensity of the odors we want to remove. After 30 minutes of running the ozone generator, stop the process and check if the smell has disappeared. It may be necessary to repeat the treatment to obtain a satisfactory effect.

A less popular method is the removal of odors by ultrasound. It is carried out using a device that disperses the condensed cleaning fluid inside the car. Ultrasound breaks the drug into drops with a diameter of 5 microns, which penetrate into all nooks and crannies and remove unpleasant odors. The process takes about 30 minutes and prices start at PLN 70. No matter which cigarette smell removal method you choose, it's worth it. Not only will the trip become more pleasant, but also the unwanted smell will not scare off potential buyers when reselling the car.
