P1351 – OBD-II

P1351 OBD-II DTC Description

  • P1351 - High voltage in the ignition control module circuit.

The P1351 Transmission Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is a manufacturer code. The repair process varies by make and model.

The ignition control module (or ICM for its abbreviation in English) has independent power and ground circuits, having different internal and external circuits that make up its entirety.

The ICM itself is responsible for monitoring the CKP timing signal when the engine is already running, detecting that this signal is passing from the CKP sensor to the ICM in the CKP sensor signal circuit 2. This signal is typically used to determine the correct cylinder . pair to initiate the ignition coil start sequence, displaying a P1351 OBDII trouble code if there are any failures or issues in that particular area.

What does the P1351 OBD2 DTC mean?

Trouble Code P1351 OBDII means that there is a malfunction or a general problem with the ICM, finding that this particular code varies a lot depending on the make of your vehicle. An example of the above are the following values for the P1351 OBD2 DTC:

  • For Ford vehicles, this code indicates a malfunction in the dealer's IDM circuit.
