The first photos of the VW Arteon Shooting Brake

Recently it became clear that the new model will be produced at the VW plant in the German city of Emden. The company will gradually transition to models based on the new MEB electric vehicle platform, but until then “Arteon, Arteon Shooting Brake and Passat sedan” will be produced there “in the next few years.”

In China, the new Arteon will be called the CC Travel Edition. It was from China that photos leaked that completely show what the new VW Arteon Shooting Brake will look like.

Compared to the standard model, the Arteon Shooting Brake is 4869mm long versus 4,865mm, while the width and height are identical at 1869mm and 1448mm, respectively, and the same applies to the 2842mm wheelbase. The photos show an interesting impressive increase in ride height, but this version of the Shooting Brake “Alltrack” will only be available for the Chinese market.

The rear of the sports station wagon provides more room for second-row passengers and more cargo without changing the characteristic lines of a large compartment.

From now on, the interior of Arteon will be more different from Passat. After facelift, the atmosphere in the cabin will more fully correspond to the noble character of the car. The infotainment system will be the latest generation (MIB3). Otherwise, the interior of the Arteon and Arteon Shooting Brake will have a similar style, which will be close to what we know from the Touareg SUV.

As for the power units - at the moment one can only guess about this. Expected petrol engines are the 1,5-litre TSI with 150 horsepower and the 272-litre TSI with 150 horsepower. For diesels - two two-liter options with a capacity of 190 and XNUMX horsepower.

Will the Arteon Shooting Brake get a six-cylinder engine?

There is also constant talk that the VW Arteon Shooting Brake will get a very special version of the drive - and there are rumors that it will be the only European model based on the MQB platform that will have a six-cylinder engine.

The newly developed VR6 unit with a three-liter displacement and direct injection with two turbochargers will generate about 400 hp. and 450 Nm. This would be a great step to differentiate the model from the VW Passat.
