Crosswalk. These items are designed to improve safety
There are still new ways to improve the safety of pedestrians at crossings. Special lighting (the so-called cat's eyes), which turns on when a pedestrian crosses the road, is just one of them. However, nothing can replace the caution of drivers and pedestrians.
Intelligent Lighting
The main requirement for the safety of pedestrians at the crossing is good visibility. It is important that drivers, even at night, can see both the passage itself and the people walking along it from afar. That is why active pedestrian crossings are being created, i.e. those that, thanks to sensors or cameras, are able to detect the presence of a pedestrian. Then flashing lights on the pavement, the so-called cat's eyes or signal lights, mounted on a vertical sign.
