Peugeot 206 CC 1.6 16V

Namely, we thought that the Peugeot designers had already managed to evoke all the enthusiasm that women are ready to show for one car with the presentation of the 206. But everything indicates that we were deeply mistaken.

The Peugeot 206 CC proved to be more enthusiastic than we ever imagined. Therefore, we strongly warn all men once again: do not buy a Peugeot 206 CC for the sake of women, because it will never be completely clear who she really likes - you or 206 CC. Its appearance fully justifies it. French automotive creations are known for pleasing women's hearts, and Peugeot certainly ranks first among them.

The undisputed winner of recent years is undoubtedly the Model 206. Elegant and at the same time cute, but at the same time sporty. The latter also proved to be excellent results in the World Cup. And now, in a slightly modified form, he has become a real heartbreaker of women.

The designers had a daunting task as they had to keep the original lines on both sides (coupe-convertible) so that they remained at least as pleasing in both images as the limousine. They did a great job. Few people dislike 206 CC, and even then only when it piles up.

But let's leave the form aside and focus on the other good and bad things about this little one. The roof is definitely one of the good ones. Until now, we have only known the Mercedes-Benz SLK hardtop, which is of course not intended for mass use. We cannot claim this for the 206 CC as the base model is already available in our market for 3.129.000 SIT. Instead of the price, another problem arose - excessive demand. Therefore, we must admit that even 206 CC is not for everyone. However, let's hope that Peugeot Slovenia will solve this problem next year, that is, it will receive enough cars.

But back to the advantages of a rigid retractable roof. One of the most important factors is undoubtedly the ease of use of the car throughout the year. This is true of classic convertibles, but only if you are buying a hardtop. Much more moisture seeps into the interior through the hinged roof than we are used to with a hardtop. You are less likely to damage the roof in the parking lot and rob you, and the sense of security is increased as you have sheet metal over your head. ...

In addition to all this, Peugeot has provided another advantage: the electric roof folding. Believe it or not, this is standard. Is there anything more to be desired from a convertible in this class? The controls are more than simple. Of course, the car must be stationary and the tailgate must be deployed, but you only need to release the fuses connecting the roof to the windshield frame and press the switch between the front seats. Electricity will take care of the rest. Repeat the same process if you want to convert the 206 CC from convertible to stackable.

However, this is not the only convenience the 206 CC offers as standard. In addition to the electrically adjustable roof, all four heated windows and mirrors are also electrically adjustable. Also standard are remote central unlocking and locking, height-adjustable steering wheel and driver's seat, ABS, power steering, two airbags, radio with CD player and aluminum package (aluminum sills, gear lever and pedals).

Of course, a beautiful appearance, rich equipment and affordable price are not a condition for good health in the interior. Find out as soon as you get into 206 CC. The low roof and even in the lowest position (too) high seat do not allow the driver to get into a comfortable driving position. The only solution is to move the seat back a little, but then the hands will be unsatisfied, not the head, as they will have to be stretched out a little. The passenger has less problems, as he was given enough space, and the box in front of him is also surprisingly spacious.

So throw away all hopes of those who expect to be able to carry small children in the back seats. You can hardly even drag the dog there. The rear seats, although they seem to be quite the right size, are for emergency use only and might only be useful to young people who want to drive to nearby bars on summer nights. However, the trunk can be surprisingly large. Of course, when there is no roof in it.

But beware - the 206 CC basically offers up to 320 liters of luggage space, meaning the latter is even 75 liters more than the sedan. Even when you put a roof on it, you still have a perfectly satisfying 150 liters. This is enough for two smaller suitcases.

The greatest pleasure for the Peugeot 206 CC is driving. The chassis is the same as the sedan, so one of the best in its class. The same can be said for the engine, as the updated 1-litre four-cylinder engine now hides sixteen valves in the head, giving it 6kW/81hp. and 110 Nm of torque. The steering fits well with the chassis and provides a very solid feel even at high speeds. Unfortunately, we cannot record this for the gearbox. As long as the shift is moderately fast, it does its job well and resists when the driver expects it to be sporty. The engine, though not the most powerful, but the chassis and even the brakes can offer it.

But this may not be what many Peugeot 206 CC enthusiasts want or expect. The little lion is far more suited to a leisurely ride in the city center than to rage outside of densely populated areas. This, of course, attracts a lot of attention. This is just one of those machines that can also be described as an object of desire.

evaluation

  • Be that as it may, we have to admit that the Peugeot designers managed to draw a car that will break hearts for a long time to come. Not only in appearance, but also in price. And if we add to that the year-round usability, the rich equipment, the powerful enough engine and the pleasure of the wind in our hair, we can say without hesitation that the 206 CC will certainly be the most popular convertible and coupe this summer.
