The Pugeot 207, with its 1-liter sixteen-valve petrol engine, five-door and three-stage equipment, may become the most popular among its brethren. The reasons are "average": it has five doors (three-door versions are usually less desirable in this class of cars, which does not mean that they are not), good equipment (perhaps the Trendy equipment, which is the second step, will be enough for most) engine and affordable price. Today, for a car that has exceeded the four-meter limit, three million tolars must be subtracted and another one hundred thousand tolars must be subtracted. Unless, of course, we choose the worst equipment and the combination of the weakest engine.

Peugeot hasn't chosen Opel's policy, which clearly distinguishes three-door and five-door versions from the new Corsa. Three- and five-door Peugeot 207 - outside, if you do not pay attention to a couple of additional side hooks and doors, like an egg on an egg. In France, the design masters hit the mark again and drew a cute car that will not only warm mostly women's hearts, but also arouse the sympathy (especially the three-door one) of a strong boy.

Peugeot 207 1.4 16V Premium (five doors) is designed primarily for family use. A four-meter pile of sheet metal provides room for five passengers, and despite the increased dimensions, it is still true that with a fully loaded P207, the space between front and rear passengers will have to be divided democratically. The most comfortable to drive in this Peugeot are the four mid-height seats, especially the front seats, which - big ones will complain about too short longitudinal travel and too short seat - soft, comfortable and strong body retention in corners (seat walls are not difficult) in this configuration the equipment is adjustable in height.

I dare say that in this class, you will be hard-pressed to find more comfortable (front) seats that dictate the feeling of sitting in a higher-end car. If you're not too tall, it won't be hard to find a good seat behind the wheel of the Peugeot 207. The carefully felted dashboard, pleasing to the eye and touch, and the decorative elements to liven it up (the P207 is a completely different story from its predecessor) also contribute to good feeling in the front seat.

Designers have tried both in the sensors and in the arrangement of buttons and switches (Peugeot drivers will feel at home in this car), as well as in the interior, in the sewn materials, as well as in the final production. There are no sharp edges here (with the exception of the bottom of the lock / unlock button, which sits above the drawer) and lacks the plastic feel that some rivals have like the 206.

The cabin lacks a second light for interior lighting, so (especially on the Premium trim) indulge yourself with the armrests next to the front seats, dual-zone automatic air conditioning (bet you'll find it in this car class, not in the equipment at the top of the list?). athermal windshield, cooled storage compartment and integrated air freshener. This "perfume" is inserted into a slot under the top display. You won't buy this car because of it, but it's a fresh idea that will bring life to life with the 207.

Welcome when it comes to scrolling through parameters, unfortunately only a one-way trip computer is available, which has three ways to track, record and analyze speed, fuel consumption ... Two of these three can be used for daily trips, monthly fuel consumption and remote analysis, etc. Useful, nothing. In the Premium package, the windshields (already standard) and the side mirrors are electrically operated (Trendy accessory), and the car radio with CDs is controlled by a lever on the steering wheel.

In Peugeot, sensors also monitor the attachment of rear-seat passengers and tell the driver if the rear-seat passengers are attached via printed numbers (green means an attached passenger) on the screen and (mostly annoying). Access to the rear seat with Isofix attachments for child seats in the five-door Peugeot 207 is easy thanks to an additional pair of doors that open wide, the seat is comfortable, space for two is only lacking in height (if the passengers are tall) and knees. A smaller family of two will feel great in this Peugeot.

The 1-liter 4V engine is especially useful for urban use, as it does not like forcing, although it has nothing against rotating at higher revs, it only continuously and slowly picks up revs. In load or on the rise, it breathes, and when cornering, it kills the dynamics with slow acceleration. However, it is elegant, the exact opposite of dampness. Urban settings are confirmed by driving at 16 kilometers per hour in fourth gear and about 50 rpm.

At 130 kilometers per hour, the revs are even higher, and the sound insulation is good enough so you don't have to yell at passengers while driving on the highway. The 1.4 16V doesn't like highway driving, which he confirms with his stubbornness, but once it picks up speed, it drives nicely and comfortably. The chassis lets you know that it can handle more complex tasks.

Up to five Peugeot 207s also get rid of distractions such as opening the fuel tank with a key, opening the hood to open the front door (otherwise the lever movement will be too short), two-stage interior lighting (sensors, screens ...) stops working when daytime running lights are on (when turned on, there is a choice between a higher or lower light level), and the biggest gripe goes (again) to the gearbox. The movements of the gear lever are similar to those of the lever 206, with which the lever 207 also makes a loud and at times awkward transition from one gear to another.

If you haven't tried something yet, it doesn't bother you, otherwise you will know exactly what time it is. There may also be an automatic central locking in the bow that works at speeds over 10 kilometers per hour (especially if you are driving, say, 15 meters and pick up someone), but this is a security system that prevents someone from getting a chest at an intersection or the back bench pushed the purse or something.

Like all cars, this Peugeot has its pros and cons, although the driver gets the feeling that the latter are quite acceptable after a week of communication with him. In addition to the gearbox ...
