Peugeot eF01: new folding electric left bike

Following the e-Kick electric scooter, Peugeot enhanced its last mile mobility offering with the Peugeot eF01 folding electric bike.

While Peugeot already offers a wide range of electric bicycles through an industrial partnership with Cycleurope, the lion manufacturer has never developed its own model on its own until now. This is now being done with the Peugeot eF01 folding electric bike, which was unveiled on Wednesday 7 September at the presentation of the new Peugeot 3008, which is expected at the manufacturer's booth at the Paris Motor Show.

Once an iconic folding bike brand, Peugeot created its first model in 1892 and then continued the iconic series in the 70s. In 2016, Peugeot Design Lab engineers made it electric by introducing a model with an ultra-fast folding system. just 10 seconds and three movements, according to a Peugeot press release.

An additional mobile solution for the brand's vehicles, the eF01, has been developed for storage and recharging in the new Peugeot 3008, which is equipped with a 12-volt socket for recharging via a docking station. No need to take out the battery or bike to recharge, it can be recharged in about two hours while the vehicle is in motion. Obviously, there is also a solution for recharging from a household outlet.

“The EF01 features optimized ergonomics. When folded, the bike's two wheels are perfectly aligned and allow the user to easily walk with the bike using the handle integrated into the frame. The eF01 has a saddle with position memory: this patented system allows you to instantly determine the ideal saddle height after every unfolding of the bike. " explains Neil SIMPSON, stylist at the Peugeot Design Lab.
