Piaggio One: Piaggio's new electric scooter in detail
Unveiled at the recent Beijing Auto Show, Piaggio ONE details its features. Available in three versions, the new Piaggio electric scooter has a range of up to 100 km.
Introduced in China, where electric scooters are growing exponentially, the new Piaggio ONE was announced a few days ago. The manufacturer is now raising the veil on its performance.
What are the Piaggio ONE versions?
Unlike the electric Vespa and its elite price tag, the Piaggio ONE is aimed primarily at young buyers. It is available in three versions with a very clear layout:
- ONE which corresponds to the basic version. This entry-level version, approved in the 50cc category, is limited to a top speed of 45 km / h. Powered by a 1.2 kW electric motor and 1.4 kWh battery, it promises up to 55 km of autonomy.
- ONE + which has the same configuration as the base version, but with a 2.3 kWh battery, which provides a theoretical autonomy of up to 100 km.
- ONE Active which falls into the higher homologation category with a top speed of 60 km / h. The technical configuration has obviously been changed accordingly with a 2.3 kWh battery and a 2 kW electric motor. Its autonomy is declared at 85 km.
On the bike side, the entire range has 10-inch wheels.

Cheaper than an electric Vespa
As for the prices, the manufacturer so far only indicates the price of the basic version. Thus, the price of Piaggio ONE in the Chinese market is 17 yuan, or about 800 euros.
It remains to be seen if the manufacturer will manage to keep similar prices in the European market, where the marketing of the model is expected in the coming weeks.
