Pinarello unveils its electric road bike

An electric road bike called the Nytro from Italian brand Pinarello can power up to 400 watts. Marketing is expected next May.

On the electrical side, the Pinarello Nytro uses the German Fazua Evation system with a battery built into the diagonal tube and a motor capable of providing three levels of support - 125, 250 or 400W, to which is added a walk assist mode. up to 6 km/h. Integrated into the crank system and powered by 36 V, this motor delivers up to 60 Nm of torque and weighs 1,3 kg.

As for the battery, the capacity remains modest. With 252 Wh, we can estimate its autonomy from 20 to 50 km, depending on the conditions of use and the mode used. 

The road bike requires the manufacturer to strive to minimize the weight of their bike with a T700 carbon frame linked to SRAM derailleur, hydraulic disc brakes and Fulcrum 5 wheels. The result: Weight is limited to just 13kg.

The Piranello Nytro is expected to be sold in five sizes in May 2018 and is limited to 1000 pieces. Listed selling price: 6490 euros!
