The planets are crazy but they don't exist

"A non-existent superterrestrial extrasolar planet orbiting the star Gliese 581" is how Wikipedia writes about Gliese 581d. An attentive reader will say - wait, if he doesn’t exist, then why does he need a password on the Internet at all and why do we bother with it?

We should ask the wikipedists for the meaning of the password. Maybe someone regretted the work he had done and eventually left a full detailed description of Gliese 581 d, adding only as an explanation: “The planet does not actually exist, the data in this section only describes the theoretical characteristics of this planet, if it could exist in reality." However, it is worth studying because it is an interesting scientific case. Since its "discovery" in 2007, over the past few years, the illusory planet has been the main topic of all the "Earth-like exoplanet" compilations that the popular science media loves so much. Simply enter the keyword "Gliese 581 d" into a graphical search engine to find a beautiful rendering of a world other than Earth.

To be continued subject number You will find in the September issue of the magazine.
