Jeep's first all-electric model looks about the same size as the Renegade crossover.

In announcing its plans for the future, Jeep has unveiled its first all-electric SUV, which is expected to hit the market in early 2023.

Although details have yet to be revealed, the electric crossover appears to be the same size as the Renegade small SUV, placing it in the background of the likes of the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, Mazda MX-30 and Tesla Model Y.

Up front, a closed grille and a blue "e" badge signify Jeep's all-electric status, and a matte hood decal that Jeep has said in the past to help reduce glare is also present.

X-shaped taillights are at the rear, and the Jeep EV also has a contrasting black roof and hidden rear door handles.

Powertrain details are being kept under wraps for now, but the Jeep model will also be converted to a Fiat model and possibly an Alfa Romeo.

As part of Stellantis' future plans, all models launched in Europe from 2026 will be all-electric, with EVs by 100% of sales by 2030.

In the US, half of the Stellantis group's sales at this time will come from electric vehicles from brands such as Dodge, Chrysler, Maserati, Peugeot, Citroen and Ram.

In total, by the end of the decade, 75 electric vehicles under different brands will appear on the market.

To that end, Ram is also working on an all-electric vehicle designed to compete with the Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet Silverado EV.

It is still unclear if any of these models will make it to Australian showrooms, as no local Stellantis brand has committed to an all-electric Down Under model.

While models such as the new Fiat 500e and Peugeot e-208 are not available in Australia, plug-in hybrids such as the Peugeot 3008 GT Sport PHEV are already on sale and the Jeep Grand Cherokee plug-in is also coming soon.
