Why do we adjust headlights?

When driving on the roads, we are often blinded by the beam of light falling from the headlights of vehicles loaded with a full complement of passengers. The effect is stronger when the trunk is loaded or the vehicle is towing a trailer.

When driving on the roads, we are often blinded by the beam of light falling from the headlights of vehicles loaded with a full complement of passengers. The effect is stronger when the trunk is loaded or the vehicle is towing a trailer.

This is due to the fact that the rear of the car lowers and the headlights begin to shine "into the sky". To counteract this adverse effect, most modern cars have a special knob on the dashboard that allows you to adjust the headlights depending on the load of the car. However, only a few drivers use this feature.

It is worth noting that the correction down to "1" should be made in the presence of two passengers in the back. If the luggage compartment is fully loaded and only the driver is driving the car, turn the handle to position "2".

Recommended settings depending on the load are given in the vehicle operating instructions.
