Why is it better to get a license and register a car at the MFC than at the traffic police

In order to make life easier for Russian motorists, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation transferred some powers of the traffic police to the MFC. In particular, public service offices now issue driver's licenses in case they are lost or expired, and also register vehicles. And they do it, I must say, much more quickly than the traffic police units.

The list of services provided by the MFC is constantly expanding. Today, motorists in the capital can register a new or used car, obtain a Russian or international driver's license, and even apply for a parking permit for a disabled person, a large family or a resident. But first things first.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION

The procedure for registering a car with the traffic police cannot be called very pleasant. If only because this process takes at least half a day from car owners. In "My Documents", as well as in the traffic police, the service is provided on the day of the request. Only now the owner receives the STS and registration plates in his hands in an hour. Yes, yes, it takes less than 60 minutes for the traffic police inspectors (namely, they do this at the MFC) to process all the “paperwork” and inspect the car.

It is important that public service centers, unlike most traffic police departments, receive citizens daily. Another advantage of the MFC is the absence of queues, both live and electronic. True, registration of cars is still carried out only in the flagship offices located in the Central and South-Western administrative districts.

To register a car in "My Documents", you must first register on the official website. Interestingly, time booking is possible online even for the current day. The price of the issue is the amount of the state duty without any extra charges. That is, 850 or 2850 (if new "numbers" are needed) rubles. We add that since the beginning of the year, more than 10 car owners in the capital have resorted to this MFC service.

DRIVER'S LICENSE

With "rights" in "My Documents" a little simpler - they are issued in all offices, not only in the flagship ones. However, motorists who decide to apply for a new certificate at the MFC have to wait up to 9 calendar days, since the request is redirected to the traffic police. However, if we compare the speed of providing this service in the "documents" and directly to the traffic police, the latter still lose.

Yes, traffic cops draw up new "rights" in a couple of hours. Only now you have to sign up for them almost two weeks in advance - there are queues everywhere. Do not forget about the weekend laid down by the employees of the State traffic inspectorate - Sundays and Mondays. You can come to the MFC without an appointment any day - even today, if you like.

Curiously, in the first five months of this year, My Documents offices issued more than 139 Russian and more than 000 international driving licenses to domestic motorists. And this is a lot, considering how many motorized citizens live in our capital.

I am a motorist

Since the beginning of summer, Moscow multifunctional centers have been providing another service that can be useful to Russian drivers. This is a project called "I am a motorist." Citizens are given the opportunity to issue all the documents, as they say, in one package: replace “rights”, find out about unpaid fines and get a parking permit for a disabled person, a parent with many children or a resident.

You can use it at any My Documents office in the Central Administrative District or the central office in the South-Western Administrative District. Consultants will provide information about administrative offenses immediately. The driver's license, as we wrote above, will be ready in 9 calendar days. But up to 10 working days are allotted for entering into the registers of parking permits at the MFC. In this case, only “rights” are paid - 2000 rubles will be asked for Russian and 1600 for international ones.
