Why do old cars need to be warmed up so they don't burn out?

Warming up the engine and transmission, especially in extremely cold conditions, is the kindest thing you can do with older cars. Cold liquids move poorly and damage the engine due to lack of lubrication.

While modern cars don't need to warm up before moving forward, older cars need to warm up, even if it's only for a few minutes, and you'll avoid serious engine problems.
