Why you should carry a flashlight in your car

When You Can Use a Flashlight

Let's start with the most obvious: an emergency repair case. The car stalled at the most unexpected moment - you need to look under the hood, a tire has been pierced - you need to change it, but in the dark there is no way without a lantern. It may happen that a natural need suddenly made itself felt on the highway - again, moving away from the car even a couple of meters, it is uncomfortable to find yourself in the dark.

A separate category - lovers of outdoor recreation, autotourists, hunters and fishermen. This is where a flashlight is essential. Away from the lights of the city, the absence of light will be especially noticeable, even a fire will not help to fully illuminate, since it acts in an undirected and diffused way. A mobile source emits a concentrated beam of light that can be directed to any, even hard-to-reach point.

Smartphone flashlight is not the best tool

First, the shape of the phone is not intended for direct use as a flashlight; it can be easily dropped, damaged and left without a means of communication at the right time. And just dropping an expensive device is fraught with material losses for repairs or the purchase of a new one. Or it will be discharged, which again is unacceptable.

Secondly, digging under the hood, the gadget is easy to get dirty, and technical dirt is almost impossible to clean off without a trace.

Thirdly, in general, smartphones are not intended for long-term use as a lighting device, since flash diodes act as a light element in them. With prolonged operation, the probability of failure of these diodes is high. Yes, and working, repairing something with one hand, when the other is busy with the phone, is in itself inconvenient.

Advantages of a regular flashlight

It is convenient to hold an ordinary hand-held flashlight, directing the beam of light in the right direction, it is not so dangerous to drop it, because manufacturers also provide such options. Dropping it from a small height will not bring such tangible damage as in the case of a smartphone. You can put it on any surface, conveniently directing the beam in the right direction, without fear of getting dirty.

Modern flashlights come in a wide variety of shapes, from classic to hanging or flexible, which can be bent and fixed in the engine compartment, freeing both hands. You can also purchase a massive lantern or a lantern in the form of a baton, and, if necessary, use it for self-defense.

It seems obvious that in the trunk of any motorist, along with a set of tools, a spare tire, a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher, there should be an ordinary, but such an indispensable flashlight.
