Why is it so expensive to insure Honda Accord and Honda Civic?

Your car insurance is paramount to protect in the event of a car accident, theft, or mechanical failure, however, if you own a Honda, you should take a look at insurance costs and list different insurance companies for the benefit of your pocket.

El Honda Civic and H They make up some of the most popular cars on the road these days. Although these cars do not belong to the luxury market, the insurance for both is quite high. But, What makes these two Honda cars so expensive to insure?

According to Value Penguin, a data-driven insurance information company, Two Honda cars are among the most popular on the road.

In 2019, the cheapest Honda to insure was the Insight LX. A hybrid in nature, the Insight LX started at $23,725 and cost about a dollar a year for insurance.

Some of the other less expensive options are the $2,070 Odyssey and the $2,167 CR-V. The most expensive Honda models on the list were the $2,302 Ridgeline, $2,374 Accord LX, $2,502 Civic LX, and $2,402 Civic Type R.

All of the most expensive insurance models were sedans, with the exception of the Ridgeline, which is a station wagon.

What determines the cost of insurance?

The problem here is not the reliability of the Honda Accord or Honda Civic. This is about driver. There is a big discrepancy between the price of insurance for an 18-year-old and a 30-year-old.

In fact, Value Penguin says the difference is between $5,000 and $6,000 a year for a 30 year old and an 18 year old.

For the same 2019 Accord, you can expect a 30-year-old to pay the $2,374 listed above. An 18-year-old driver could be charged about $8,380 for the same car.

For a 2014 or earlier Accord, a 30-year-old driver could pay $1,998 and an 18-year-old could pay $7,143. The average Honda insurance cost was $2,151, making the Accord $12/year more expensive than the average price.

By comparison, the Civic will cost $2,502 for a 30-year-old and $8,844 for an 18-year-old. For a 30 year old, that works out to about $195.70 per month. While the Civic is generally pretty safe, it's the most expensive Honda in the lineup to insure.

Why is Honda insurance expensive?

According to Good Car Bad Car, 15,475 Civics were sold in 2021. A total of Accord cars were sold. But why are these two cars so expensive? Smaller and less expensive cars tend to be more affordable for younger drivers. This means that, according to the insurer, there may be more claims. This is consistent with the figures above, which show that insurance coverage for younger drivers is exponentially higher.

} However, it's really hard to predict how much insurance might cost in general. A 30-year-old Southern California resident is likely to pay more than a 30-year-old Nebraska resident simply because of the sheer volume of cars on the road.

As cars become safer and more reliable, they also become more expensive. If you have any doubts about how much you will pay, always. State Farm, Allstate, Geico and Nationwide are some of them.
