The US Department of Research and Defense (DARPA) has unveiled a new high-tech suspension system that allows robots to move effortlessly over even the most rugged terrain. So far, military robots have had more or less trouble moving over rough terrain.

This could be remedied by installing more powerful motors, but they added weight and increased power consumption, which in turn required larger batteries. DARPA decided to fix this and developed a new, improved suspension system, which, due to its flexibility, makes it much easier to overcome obstacles and provides a smoother ride, regardless of objects in the path of the vehicle.
