Many cars have very limited rear visibility, so reversing and parking in a narrow space ahead can be problematic even for an experienced driver and sometimes end in an accident. For this reason, it is also worth installing parking sensors. Then all maneuvers in the parking lot will become much easier and safer.

Original and versatile

Sensors can be ordered when buying a new car, but in the vast majority of cases, their price is very high, and in some models they are only available in the richest versions.

It will be much cheaper if we decide to install a universal kit. If we install it in an authorized service center, there is no risk of voiding the warranty. Many services also offer such devices as an option, realizing that original accessories are definitely too expensive. Rear sensors sometimes cost more than PLN 2000, while the same universal sensors cost three times less. The display of information, for example, on the factory radio, speaks in favor of factory sensors, besides, universal ones are not inferior in efficiency to factory ones.

 

The range of sensors is very wide and starts from the simplest kits with only audible information and ends with front and rear sensors with a graphic and audible display. The option we choose depends mainly on financial capabilities. The simplest kits can be installed for less than PLN 600. These will be three sensors in the bumper with an audible warning of an approaching obstacle.

Richer versions (about PLN 800) have four sensors, a display and sound information. In addition, we have information on which side let.

For demanding customers, there are also kits with front and rear parking sensors. They consist of eight sensors, four at the rear and four at the front, and information about obstacles is displayed on a display above the rear-view mirror. Such a kit with assembly costs about 1500 zł.

Installing sensors on off-road vehicles can cause some problems due to the protruding spare tire. Sensors must be selected with a tracking angle that does not turn on the wheels and at the same time does not limit the efficiency of the work. 

Important Accuracy

Installing sensors is not a particularly difficult operation, but it requires skill and accuracy, because you have to drill several holes in the bumper. Mistakes can no longer be corrected. outside signs of parking sensors are only sonar tips sticking out of the bumper, which can be painted in the color of the bumpers.

To assemble, it is necessary to remove the bumper, trunk lining and, depending on the version, also some interior upholstery. Assembly time varies from two to eight hours. The cost varies and largely depends on the version. Installation of the simplest sensors costs from PLN 250 to 300 plus the cost of the device itself. In many cases, the price of the device is indicated along with the assembly.
