Positive pregnancy test? Here's what you should do next

The adventure is just beginning - the test confirmed that you will be a mother. How to behave? Do you immediately run to the doctor, change your habits, lifestyle and environment? Calm down, breathe. There are things that really need to be done immediately, but there are also changes that can be planned and made gradually.

When you have mastered the great joy and hurricane of emotions from euphoria to hysteria (reactions can be very different and they are all natural), you talk to the people you want to inform about this fact, it's time to first prepare for pregnancy. And although you will be taking action later on with the other parent, perhaps also with relatives or friends, at this initial moment, try to focus only on your needs.

Consider making your daily life easier

And it's really about the basics. At this point, this clue may seem abstract, but trust me, a lot of things in the life of a pregnant woman can surprise you. For example, if you have long dreamed of a comfortable chair with a footrest, now is the time to afford it. Moreover, it is useful for feeding and can be your command post for months to come. Browse delivery restaurants and leave the healthy ones at the top. There may be days when you don't shop or don't have the energy to cook. Order parcels to your home, not to the parcel machine, to reduce your overhead costs. Buy a shopping bag on wheels. Order soft washing brushes with a long handle. A shoe horn might also come in handy. Take a good look at light blankets made of natural materials and pillows of various shapes so that you can comfortably sit on your tummy on your side. These are of course only examples that will inspire you to make your daily life as easy as possible and enjoy your independence for as long as possible.

Take care of your safety by avoiding threats

Especially after 2 weeks from fertilization to the third month, unhealthy surroundings and interventions in the body should be especially avoided. Harmful exposure to, for example, paints, chemicals, fertilizers and plant sprays or exposure to high noise levels can be hazardous. You must be careful with contact with sick people. But also give up such dangerous activities as a solarium, sauna, x-rays, and even anesthesia at the dentist. Before any treatment, whether cosmetic or medical, inform that you are pregnant and ask if it is harmful. This applies to both the treatment of colds and the manicure itself. However, always carry a card, cash, a charged mobile phone (consider an external battery), a bottle of water, and a snack with you at all times. Your body is changing, so it can surprise you with all sorts of situations that require a quick trip home or a phone call to your loved ones for support.

Change your habits for a more favorable pregnancy

You don't really have to give up your current lifestyle, but some adjustments will be necessary. For example, instead of an intense massage and sauna, opt for a walk and have your partner massage your feet daily. Switch to easier workouts, especially if you do them yourself and have no one to consult. Start paying attention to healthy living conditions. Even… air. In winter, you should avoid walking when there is smog and using indoor air purifiers. In the summer, in the heat, we do not go outside, and humidification and cooling are turned on indoors.

It's time to focus more on yourself

Check if you have enough movement, let yourself relax, books, newspapers, movies or puzzles. Write down. In the daily calendar, but rather, get a separate notebook where you will write down what is happening. Not necessarily every day, but weekly or monthly. Also plan where you will collect digital photos from the beginning (there will be hundreds) and those related to pregnancy and life with a child - you prefer to put them in classic albums or maybe print them out as a book.

Give up bad habits and bad habits and make an appointment with a doctor

A visit to the doctor is recommended 6 weeks after fertilization. And that's the best way to plan. However, given the queues, sign up as soon as you find out you're pregnant. Also remember not to take any medication before this visit. If you need long-acting medications, check the leaflets right away - there should be a record that pregnant women can take them.

Find support from loved ones and a source of solid knowledge

Initially, we do not inform many people about the new situation, and this is completely natural. However, it is worth having one or two people who can help us in unforeseen situations - a visit to the doctor, a deterioration in well-being or a drop in mood. It is equally important to find reliable information support about the changes that will occur in your body literally week after week. Ideally, these should be book guides, not advice from Internet forums.
