Increased fuel consumption for the VAZ 2112

Car VAZ 2112 2003 release, engine 1,6 16 valve injection. I must say right away that the consumption was very pleasing, on the highway at a speed of about 90-100 km / h the average consumption was no more than 5,5 liters per hundred, and this is taking into account the fact that instead of the standard firmware there was a “Dynamic” chip. This is certainly not a sports firmware, but the car felt much more confident than on the factory control unit. Instead of 12,5 seconds to 100 km / h, according to AvtoVAZ, my “dvenashka” accelerated 2 seconds faster, that is, in almost 10 seconds to hundreds. So, everything was fine, until at one not-so-great moment, fuel consumption increased sharply by almost two times. Since an on-board computer was installed on my VAZ 2112, I constantly monitored fuel consumption not only at speed, but also at idle, standing still. And so, on a warm engine, fuel consumption at idle was 0,6 liters per hour. And after this problem arose, the computer began to show 1,1 liters per hour, which is almost twice as much. And yet, all this happened instantly, that is, the car is standing still, the engine is running, the consumption is normal, and suddenly the check engine injector control lamp lights up sharply and the computer gives an error, and immediately after that, fuel consumption increases sharply.

And what is most interesting, when you reset this error with a button on the computer, the flow rate becomes within the normal range, and the injector malfunction lamp immediately goes out. And just like that, I had to constantly reset this error with a button when you stood and warm the car in place, although there was no such problem at speed, but it's not about speed, of course, but about revs. At high revs, the flow rate was the same and the error did not pop up. And like this, almost all winter, or rather only winter, because in the spring all this was gone. I thought that everything was working out, I drove through the whole summer and autumn normally, the computer did not give out any problems with consumption and any errors. But as soon as winter came, this mess began again, the on-board computer began to beep again, again the same error, again the fuel consumption jumped back and forth.

I discovered the reason later, when I got on the Internet and looked at what the error code that the computer display gave out meant. It turns out that the injector simply did not have enough oxygen, and the mixture was rich, there was a lot of gasoline - there was not enough air, which is why gasoline consumption increased. The reason is eliminated quickly, but not cheaply, I had to change the oxygen sensor, which cost me about 3000 rubles. But after replacing these sensors, you can safely ride another hundred thousand kilometers.
