Spy shots of updated Toyota Fortuner appeared

Photo spies “caught” the updated car during the tests. The novelty is likely to appear on the market in 2020.

Fortuner was introduced back in 2015. In 2020, the manufacturer is preparing an update to the popular car, and, as it became known, it expects us very soon. The prototype has already managed to “light up” during the tests. 

The pictures were taken in Thailand, but the Indians became the main distributor of information, since they have this car is very popular. Although it is worth noting, the demand for Fortuner is falling: in 2019, 29% less cars were bought than a year earlier. 

The car is completely covered by camouflage film, but the appearance of the new items is visible as well. Most likely, the updated version will differ from the previous grille, head optics, bumpers and alloy wheels. 

There are no photos of the salon, but, according to preliminary information, the “insides” of Fortuner will not undergo major changes. Rumor has it only about the new multimedia system and other seat upholstery materials. 

Most likely, the engines will remain the same. The only moment: the motors for the Indian market will be brought into compliance with local environmental standards. Recall that now Fortuner is equipped with a 2,8-liter diesel engine with 177 horsepower or a 2,7-liter unit with 166 horsepower.

Cars come to the Russian market with the same engines. The only difference: only an automatic transmission is available. The novelty is likely to get to the Russian market, but there is no exact information yet. Note that the former Fortuner lost in popularity: in 2019, 19% fewer cars were sold than in 2018.
