Take care of the turbine

More and more car engines are equipped with turbines. It is not only – as in the past – gasoline-powered vehicles with sporting ambitions. Modern diesel engines are also refueled by compressors.

This device should provide the engine with an additional portion of air, including additional oxygen. The extra oxygen allows additional fuel to be burned, allowing the engine to gain more power.

When using a car with a turbo, keep in mind that it will take more time if properly cared for. This device works in difficult conditions - the turbine shaft rotates at a speed of about 100.000 revolutions per minute. At this speed, the turbine heats up very much and must be provided with good lubrication, otherwise it can quickly become unusable. Lubrication is provided by engine oil. Therefore, after the trip, do not forget to leave the engine idling for several tens of seconds. As a result, the unloaded turbine cools down.
