Probably, this saved us from oppression more than once, when one of the wheels of our car flew out of order. Let's not forget that the "reserve" also needs to be taken care of, otherwise our trip can turn into a nightmare. Don't treat the spare tires as unnecessary weight, but remember that we may need them.
When our wheel fails, we have one of three options:
1- complete spare wheel with a tire identical to the standard tire /same size and tread pattern/;
2- circle so-called. temporary / other tire size than in the factory, most often it is a narrow, incomplete wheel on a steel rim with a diameter similar to the factory wheel /. Such a wheel has a yellow sticker with information about the permissible speed at which you can drive on such a wheel. As a rule, it is 80 km/h;
3 - the third option of the so-called. repair kit, which is a box with special foam that closes small punctures in the tire.
A full-size steering wheel is not always standard on a car, if you have to pay extra for it, do not refuse it. During each check, the service must also check the condition of the spare wheel. If you're going on a longer route, you should check to see if it's puffed up.
The temporary spare wheel should also be inspected from time to time in its condition, for example, for air leaks.
If the vehicle is equipped with option 3, i.e. repair kit, first of all, read the instructions for its use, without waiting for the moment when we will be forced to use it on the road.
Remember that if as a result of wheel damage we used a "rider" or used a repair kit, do not exceed the speeds indicated in the manual and do not make sudden maneuvers. – So we will rely primarily on stocks. Let's inflate it a little more than the other wheels. Of course, let's check his pressure from time to time. Every 2 years we replace the valve valve. We can treat it like any rubber - after 10 years it must be replaced with a new one. If the tread pattern of our spare wheel differs from the tread pattern of other wheels, we should only treat it as a driveway,” advises Marek Godziska, Director Technical Technician Auto-Boss, Bielsko branch.
