Electric motorcycle fire on the street [VIDEO]

A recording of an electric motorcycle fire in Zhangzhou, China (pronounced angżau) appeared on the Reddit forum. A two-wheeled vehicle suddenly lights up while driving on the street. Attempts to extinguish it with a dry powder fire extinguisher are moderately effective. Police later said the car did not comply with road safety regulations.

The incident took place in China, probably under the supervision of a city surveillance camera (source). Under an electric skateboard, scooter or motorcycle with thick wheels, smoke first appears, and then suddenly flames break out, tongues more than a meter long shoot in all directions.

The driver jumps off the car and runs away, the passenger obviously does not keep up with the reaction. He falls to the ground and needs time to escape. You see that his clothes are badly burnt. The police who arrived at the scene are trying to extinguish the two-wheeled vehicle with a powder fire extinguisher, but after a while the flame flared up from it again. As the services later reported, both people were burned, and the car should not move on the road at all.

Based on the shape of the flame, which exploded in all directions, the lithium polymer cells could have ignited. They are cheaper and guarantee a higher energy density, which is why they are sometimes used in hobby projects.
