Traffic Laws. Crosswalks and vehicle stops.

18.1

The driver of a vehicle approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing where pedestrians are located must reduce speed and, if necessary, stop to give way to pedestrians for whom an obstacle or danger could be created.

18.2

At regulated pedestrian crossings and intersections at the signal of a traffic light or traffic controller permitting the movement of vehicles, the driver must give way to pedestrians who end the passage of the carriageway of the corresponding direction of movement and for which an obstacle or danger can be created.

18.3

Driving past pedestrians who have not had time to complete the crossing of the roadway and are forced to be on the islet of safety or the line dividing traffic flows in opposite directions, drivers must observe a safe interval.

18.4

If a vehicle slows down or a vehicle stops before an unregulated pedestrian crossing, drivers of other vehicles traveling in adjacent lanes must slow down and, if necessary, stop and resume (resume) driving only making sure that there are no pedestrians at the pedestrian crossing for which an obstacle or danger must be created.

18.5

In any place, the driver should let blind pedestrians forward, giving a signal with a white cane directed forward.

18.6

It is forbidden to enter a pedestrian crossing if there is a traffic jam behind it that will force the driver to stop at this crossing.

18.7

Drivers must stop before the pedestrian crossing at the signal provided for in subparagraph "c" of paragraph 8.8 of these Rules, if such a request is received from members of the school patrol, a detachment of young traffic inspectors, suitably equipped, or persons accompanying groups of children, and give way to children crossing carriageway.

18.8

The driver of the vehicle must stop in order to give way to pedestrians traveling from the open door to the tram (or from the tram), which stands at a stop if boarding or disembarking is carried out from the carriageway or landing pad located on it.

Continue driving only when pedestrians leave the carriageway and the doors close at the tram.

18.9

When approaching a vehicle with the “Children” sign that stopped with the orange flashing lights and / or hazard warning lights on, drivers of vehicles traveling in an adjacent lane must slow down and, if necessary, stop to avoid colliding with children.
