First Edition variants receive unique badges to separate them from the standard Flying Spur lineup.

Bentley has unveiled a special First Edition for its all-new Flying Spur sedan line-up, slated for release later this year.

The limited edition four-door will make its debut at the Elton John AIDS Foundation gala this week, where the first example will be auctioned off to raise money for charity.

The First Edition differs from the standard Flying Spur in a number of aesthetic touches, including unique badges, the Union Jack flag with the number "1" in the center, and special Bentley Winged emblems embroidered on the headrests and treadplates.

It also benefits from a number of other optional extras, such as 22-inch Mulliner wheels and a rotating center display that gives drivers the choice between a touchscreen display or old-school analog dials.

First Edition models are also equipped with the Touring package, which adds lane-keep assist, night vision, a head-up display, and adaptive cruise control.

The first version will enter production in just 12 months, with first customer deliveries scheduled for early 2020.

At this stage, Bentley has yet to confirm the timing and specifications of the Flying Spur in Australia.

As reported, the third-generation four-door Bentley is powered by a 466-liter W900 twin-turbocharged 6.0 kW/12 Nm engine, the same as the Bentayga Speed SUV.

This is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends drive to an all-paw adaptive transmission.

Weighing in at 2435kg, the new Flying Spur is a hefty beast, but it still manages to sprint from zero to 100km/h in an impressive 3.8 seconds.

The new Flying Spur has been stretched and has a longer wheelbase. To compensate for this, an all-wheel steering system is used to improve agility at low speeds and stability at high speeds.
